Our new oak boards are ideal for rustic garden decking, edging, gates, shelving, borders, raised flower beds etc.. Some customers even make fantastic ‘rustic’ oak furniture from our boards.
All our new oak boards are unseasoned and may develop splits and cracks with age, giving them character and that rustic look! Some boards may have a slight wane or bevel on one or two of their edges. The oak quickly turns silver/grey when exposed to the sun and rain.

Please Note:
Beware of cheap, lower grade alternatives such as Eastern European Oak (commonly known as Turkey Oak). We don’t sell this due to its poor quality compared to English/French oak
Many of our customers make fantastic rustic furniture from our new oak but please be aware that the wood is unseasoned (contains natural moisture), is not kiln dried and so not sold as ’carpentry’ quality.
Our new oak will show some imperfections; cracks, knots, marks, some wane and even the odd insect nibble. The wood may distort, move and shrink slightly as it ages. All adding to its character and giving it the rustic look. The wood is sold as ‘sleeper’ or ‘garden’ grade which is reflected in our prices.
